- Description:
Agastache scrophulariifolia, which at 4', is a tall growing member of the Mint family. Like mint, it has squarish hairy stems. The leaves are deep-green, large, and coarsely toothed, resembling those of nettles. The tiny purple flowers form a dense, showy terminal spike, or raceme.
- Cultivation:
Purple Giant Hyssop is found growing in moist open woods and thickets and in open floodplains. It enjoys moist rich soil in sun to part-shade. Like most members of the Mint family, it is highly adaptable, easy to grow, and will colonize with ease. It is a good choice for a cottage garden. A late season bloomer; July through September, sometimes later. Zones 4-7
