Description
The showy basal leaves of Aconitum noveboracense are large, toothed and deeply lobed. It produced a single 4' tall stem that is terminally divide and bears much smaller and sparsely set leaves. The flowers are beautiful, blue, and unusual resembling an ornate hood about 1" across.
Cultivation
Northern monkshood is intolerant of heat and high humidity. It is found growing on well-drained, rich slopes in full to part shade, and along streams and other water features. It requires cool soil and good air circulation. blooms from Jun to July. Zones 4-6
