Carex laxiculmis 'Bunny Blue' is a low-growing, evergreen sedge with a neat habit. It can be distinguished from the straight species by its enhanced and more consistently blue foliage.
'Bunny Blue' is very adaptable. Although the recommendation is for moist soil in part shade, we've found it to be reliable through recent extended summer droughts. It will tolerate close to full sun in areas that are consistently moist to wet throughout the growing season. It is not particular about soil type and performs well in heavy clay. This is an excellent alternative to Liriope.
Although 'Hobb' is the variety's name, it is more commonly referred to by its trademarked name Bunny Blue®.
