Native Shrubs: There is no clear botanical distinction between trees and shrubs, although it is generally accepted that shrubs are multi-stemmed, woody plants that do not exceed a height of 15 to 20 feet. Many of these native species are prized for their floral displays, some produce edible fruit, and the evergreens make excellent privacy screens. Many of these species are also included in our Tree-like Shrub and Subshrub categories.
