Where are my plants?

The estimated shipping timeframe is indicated on each species' ordering page. Due to factors beyond our control some orders can experience delays, however, we will send you an email if delays exceed a week beyond the posted estimate.

Can I chose a delivery date for my plants?

If you have a specific delivery schedule in mind, we will do our best to accomodate you. What are bare-root plants?

Bare-roots are plants that have had all the growing medium removed and washed from the roots. They are then packaged with moist sphagnum, or peat moss for shipping. Most species are available to ship year round, even while dormant.

How do I handle bare-root plants?

- All bare-root plants should be planted immediately upon receipt.

- If you cannot do so, you may store them for up to a week in your refrigerator crisper drawer if they are in leaf, longer if still dormant. Keep them in their original packaging, open the bags to allow the plants to breath, and make sure the medium moist.

- When ready to plant we recommend that you soak them in water for an hour before putting them in soil.

- Bare-root plants will establish better and faster if they are planted directly in the garden. If that is not possible, you may grow them out in pots, respecting their light and moisture requirements.

Can you account for provenance?

We can for most of our species, upon request. We use our best judgement, based on the destination of your order, to supply plants from the appropriate ecoregion.
